About the Principal

I first want to start off by telling everyone I have had an opportunity to meet here at West Pines how thankful I am for your hospitality and your support.  I also want to send out a thank you to Janet Shipley and Dale Painter. The school looks great and it is almost ready to go. Both of these fine people have put a lot of sweat into making West Pines such a clean and welcoming school.  Thank you both so much.

I am a graduate of Greene County Schools and am a firm believer in the values of our school system.  I believe education is of vital importance and I also believe you get out of it what you put into it.  We, here at West Pines, will serve this community to the best of our ability.  I encourage you to support us and to join us in the education of the next generation.

Alan Cobble, Principal

Obtaining my advanced degree (Ed. S) in Educational Administration and Supervision and successfully completing the School Leadership Exam in 2007 furthered my education and enabled me to grow as an educator. However, my greatest asset is the 16 years of experience as a teacher, mentor and coach to students of Doak, Chuckey-Doak Middle School and Chuckey-Doak High School. The skills and lessons I take away from those experiences are invaluable as they have become a part of me and a part of my character. In the 2014 – 2015 school year I served as an assistant principal at Mosheim Elementary School.

I stand ready to assist the current staff in meeting the needs of West Pines Elementary School and community.  I especially look forward to meeting and working with the students and parents of West Pines.

Thank you,

Alan Cobble
